We are off!

People have asked what we will be doing in Kenya. We are not sure - other than assisting the Kenyan Lutheran Church as they ask us.

We have heard about a Day Camp for youth which will be held the same week that the Lutherwood Day Camp will be going on at Grace in Corvallis. How exciting is that! We hope to at least bring pictures home to share with the children of Grace - maybe we can communicate electronically.

I was encouraged to see how the definition of mission work has come to include the concept of accompaniment - meaning we are building relationships, respecting and building on local leadership and practices, and learning and receiving information from the communities we will be staying with. The group has worked hard to prepare for the Kenya mission trip, and we are now getting ready to leave! Everyone is grateful for the support received from the congregation through their help with and participation in various fundraising events. Thanks to the Grace Foundation for matching the support received for the Kenya night dinner auction. Here are a few photos from some of the past few month's activities at Grace.
